MAHALO SKIN CARE THE UNVEIL CLEANSER MELT CONCENTRATE

MAHALO SKIN CARE THE UNVEIL CLEANSER MELT CONCENTRATE

Well well well, isn’t this post an interesting lesson in consistency. On one hand, I have not written a piece here, on my very own site, for nearly three years. (Truly, worst blogger ever.) On the other hand, though, my last post was about a balm cleanser, and so too shall this be! Even three years on - truly an eternity in beauty land - balm cleansers remain one of my absolute favourite categories, when done well. Which, pleasingly, this one most certainly is.

I completely spaced on taking a photo of this one before use, and managed to restrain myself from digging out the very last scoops to snap off a pic. Hopefully you can still get the gist of how delightfully melty it is. There’s nothing hard or waxy about this one. The scent is citrusy with some gentle sweet notes, sort of like a lime lolly, though not in a sickly way. It is an utter pleasure to use.

The entire brand is covetable, but for me, this is its star product. i came across it years ago on Caroline Hirons’ blog, but don’t think have seen it written about since, and it deserves to be. It does remove makeup well, but please don’t waste it on that (I mean, unless you want to, then crack on, you extravagant thing. Love that for you). I think this comes into its own as a true self-care spa moment. It’s perfect for taking your time and massaging in. Then, when you’re ready, slowly add water and be as delighted as a child performing the volcano science experiment as it undergoes some sort of product alchemy and transforms into a soft milk. It doesn’t leave any sort of hideous oily residue, but does leave your skin feeling lovely and comfy. The only downside to this one is the price, really. At around AUD$112 at time of writing, for a rather small 50ml pot, this will fall very much into ‘considered purchase’ territory for most.
